October Discovery Kitchen
In October, 2024 at the B-R HS, BMS and RMS, students learned the benefits of purchasing locally. Locally sourced produce was displayed at each school in the Cafeteria during lunch as students sampled fresh local Apple Cider from Carlson Orchards in Harvard, MA.
Students also participated in the annual "Guess the Weight of the Pumpkin" contest. 3 winners received the Giant Pumpkin on display.
Did you know that ALL of the apples served at all B-R Schools are locally sourced. We serve over 20 bushels of apples every week, they are available with all school meals.
In addition, during the month of October, we featured local produce every week, including Spring Mix and Green Leaf Lettuce in all of our salads, Roasted White Potatoes, delicious Corn on the Cob, and Roasted Butternut Squash.
