 Eastern Equine Encephalitis Virus
As you are already aware, the EEE virus remains a serious threat in our region of the state. We have posted a public health fact sheet on EEE on our website under Health Services. If your child participates in any sports or outdoor activities, we are suggesting that you provide your child with mosquito repellent containing DEET. PLease do not send in insect repellent, but rather, apply it at home before school if you choose. This is of the utmost importance at dusk when mosquitoes typically emerge in quantity.

Our Superintendent, Mr. Derek Swenson and Nurse Leader, Marie Fahey have discussed with both Boards of Health, a reasonable curfew for the school district to follow. There will be no outdoor practices or activities in Bridgewater or Raynham after dusk or 6:00 pm currently.. (½ hour before dusk). This will be in effect until the first frost per Board of Health recommendations. The Athletic Director, Mr. Dan Buron, has adjusted schedules accordingly. The district is reviewing the schedule of Plymouth and Bristol County Mosquito Control and their spraying history and future plans in both communities.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. Please contact your school nurse if you have any concerns or questions. We hope that you and your children have a wonderful and healthy school year!
